How to get to Singapore Zoo? We listed below 6 ways of getting to Singapore Zoo. The most popular and cheapest way is by using the MRT (subway) and public buses.

I. By MRT and Public Buses

i. Khatib MRT -> Transfer to -> Mandai Khatib Shuttle

Mandai Khatib Shuttle Operating Hours: 8.20am to 10.40pm daily at an interval of 20 minutes.

ii. Ang Mo Kio MRT -> Tansfer to -> Public Bus Service 138

Bus Service 138 Operating Hours: 6am to 11.45pm daily at an interval of 8-12 minutes. 

Bus fare for the trip: A total travel distance of 13.5km, the fare is $1.55/adult if pay by Ezlink card and $2.30/adult if pay by cash.

iii. Choa Chu Kang MRT -> Transfer to -> Public Bus Service 927

Bus Service 927 Operating Hours: 6am to 12am daily at an interval of 13-18 minutes. 

Bus fare for the trip: A total travel distance of 9km, the fare is $1.35/adult if pay by Ezlink card and $1.90/adult if pay by cash.

II. Getting to Singapore Zoo by Mandai Heartlands Express

This service is specially cater for local residents who live in the eastern part of Singapore. The Mandai Heartlands Express provides bus services direct from the following three towns to Singapore Zoo: Bedok, Tampines and Sengkang. These services only operate on weekends, school and public holidays. You have to book the tickets online at the official site with your preferred date and timing. No one is allowed to board the bus without a booking ticket.

Mandai Heartlands Express Ticket Prices

Adult: $3 per trip, Child: $1 per trip (ages between 3 and 12 years old), child below 3 years old travel for free. 

A. Bedok Town to/from Zoo

Pick Up Point: Bedok Point Shopping Centre (Pick Up/Drop Off Point).

Pick Up Time from Bedok Point Shopping Centre: 8.45 am and 10.15am.

Pick Up Time from Zoo: 3.15pm and 5.15pm.

B. Sengkang Town to/from Zoo

Pick Up Point: Sengkang MRT Exit C Pick Up Point, Sengkang Square.

Pick Up Time from Sengkang MRT Exit C Pick Up Point: 8.45 am and 10.15am.

Pick Up Time from Zoo: 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

C. Tampines Town to/from Zoo

III. Direct Transfer from Your Hotel to Zoo by Singapore Attraction Express (SAEx)

If you happened to stay in or near by one of the hotels as listed in the two tables below, this could be the most convenient way for getting to Singapore Zoo. 

SAEx is operated by Gemini Travel n Tours. It has two bus routes, namely the blue and orange lines, which connect the major attractions and hotels in the city areas to Singapore Zoo. How's Singapore Attraction Express works?

You may book the bus tickets online at SAEx site or just proceed directly to one of the above mentioned meeting points which is nearest to your location. Take note of the bus timings at the various meeting points and be there 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. When you see a big SAEx sign bus approaching you, flag down the bus and make your payment onboard by cash in Singapore dollars only. If you booked your ticket at SAEx site, you can show the driver the e-ticket on your phone or a printed voucher. 

 

Singapore Attraction Express Ticket Prices

$6/Adult, $4/Child. If you buy your tickets at SAEx site for a two way trips (to and back from the Zoo), you get $1 discount per person. 

 

IV. Open-Top Bus from City to Zoo by Safari Gate

This could be the most tricky way for getting to Singapore Zoo unless you are staying at a hotel around Suntec City. The only pickup point is at Safari Gate located at 3 Temasek Boulevard #01-330. I think not only you but the locals also have difficulty in finding the way there.

Safari Gate is operated by DUCK & HiPPO company. It has two lines in operation. Safari Line 1 takes travellers directly from Suntec City (where its office is located) to Singapore zoo/River Safari or Night Safari. Safari Line 2 gets you to Jurong Bird Park.

Safari Line 1 Operating Hours

From Suntec to Zoo/River Safari: 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm

From Suntec to Night Safari: 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm and 7.30pm*

From Zoo/River Safari/Night Safari to City: 11.30am, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 9.30pm, 9.45pm, 10pm and 10.30pm*

*available only on Fri, Sat and Eve of Public Holiday

For the return trip from Zoo to City (from 11.30am to 5pm), passengers are allowed to alight at any one of the below 10 stops.

VI. Direct Transfer from Zoo to City by Private Limousine and Large Taxis

This is the fastest and most comfortable way to get back to the city from Singapore Zoo. It could also be a good choice if you are travelling with a group of 5 or more people as the private limousine can take up to 6 people and the Space MPV Taxi can take 7 passengers. However, it's the most expensive way as compare to the above services.
