Eight popular Sentosa attractions are grouped in a cluster called Imbiah Lookup. The eight attractions are:
These attractions are sited so close together that you need not spend more than 5 minutes to walk from one attraction to another. The easiest way to get to Imbiah Lookup is by Sentosa Express, a monorail train which will bring you directly to Imbiah Lookup station. You can take the train at level 3 of Vivocity shopping mall. The other way is to take a cable car ride from Harbour Front Tower 2 (2 blocks from Vivocity) or Mount Faber to Sentosa's Cable Car station.
From Imbiah Lookup station, the nearest attraction is The Merlion. This is the ideal spot for you to take a photo with the tallest symbol of Singapore - The Merlion. It is not worth while to get to the top of the Merlion to just get an overview of Sentosa, especially if you plan to embark on the next attraction, the Tiger Sky Tower (formerly known as Carlsberg Sky Tower). It can be reached by taking a super long escalator from the Merlion. The view from Sky Tower, which is 110m tall, is breathtaking and giving you a 360 degree view of sentosa and the southern islands.

Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom is one of the Sentosa attractions that is not in my visiting list, if not because of my kids insisting on going. We were blessed and given a fantastic show by a handful of well trained parrots. That was really unexpected. I was puzzled as the show timing was not published in its website and brochure. You can only find it at the park's ticket booth. The show time is at 11.30am, 2 and 4pm. Go to Parrot Show Video page for a preview of the show.
Look out for a small hut shown in the following photo if you are looking for an ideal spot to take some butterfly photographs.

Don't miss Images of Singapore. One of the top Sentosa attractions, recognised as a "Top Ten Best Family Experience" at Singapore Tourism Board's 21st Tourism Awards and proud recipient of the international 2006 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement for "Reinvention of a Cultural Heritage Centre".
The effect of the sight and sound of this museum is stunning. You won't feel bored and dry about the content being displayed. The photos below show the living quarters of coolies in the old days and one of the oldest transport - rickshaw.
Life was tough in the old days working in the harbour loading and unloading cargo using the simplest tools. But to the new generation, it seems like a fun job. I do hope that they would learn something while having fun.
In the old days and my generation, we played 'kashing (top)', watched puppet show and flied kite. What a huge change, these days the youngster would prefer to hide himself in a room and play all sorts of computer games.
Singapore is a multi racial society. You will see and learn the difference in cultures and life style of Malay, Chinese, Indian and other ethnic groups.

'Shake, rattle and laugh out loud', this was what advertised in Sentosa 4D Magix leaflet. Plus scary for some timid people, my son is one of them. He would have cried and dragged me out half way of the show if he were inside the theatre with me. Though I'm tough and brave, I have to close my eye when the hornets flied towards me as if they were going to sting on my face. And I'm not prepared to be tossed and turned about in my chair. Interestingly to me, sprays of water suddenly fall onto my head and face from all directions. This could be fun but not to my wife. She would have shown me a black face after the show for being got wet. After all, it's fun and a good experience if you get prepared for it.

Adult Ticket S$20.90, Child Ticket S$12.90 (3 to 12 years old).
